What year did you purchase this software? 2006
What challenges were you looking to solve when you bought this software? We were a new church in need of a software program that would allow us to have all of our needs met in one program.
Why did you pick this software over other products you were considering? PowerChurch had all of the modules we needed and was offered at a terrific price – not only for the software but also for the technical support.
Name two or three of the functions you use most and/or find most valuable. We, of course, use the membership, accounting and contribution modules on a regular basis. We are able to keep record of all our members, visitors and prospects through the membership module. This keeps us in touch with and involved in the lives of those who make up our church family. It not only allows us to keep up with the visits we make but also to record who is involved in what area of ministry. In the accounting module, we have the functionality to process all of our accounts payable, payroll, income and expenses, tax record keeping, budgets, etc. We find the contributions module very user-friendly and very helpful, as contributions can become complex because of donor-restricted giving and pass-through giving.
What pleasantly surprised you about the company or software? The people who own and operate PowerChurch software are very friendly and helpful folks who have in mind the interests of each church they assist. They want to know what problems we face when matching up our need, specifically as a church, to the software they provide. I have worked with other church software, and I know what PowerChurch provides, at a much lower cost with no less quality of product or service, is great.
Please share a few positive details about your church’s ChMS adoption process. As a new church start, we were able to add fresh information as it arrived to our PowerChurch software. As each new item was entered, we were building the reports for review by the leaders of our church. There was a lot to be learned along the way, but through the instruction booklet, calls to the tech support staff and a training class, things became very routine and smooth rather quickly.
Other comments: PowerChurch is a very user-friendly software that allows our church to compile the information that is so important to us, helping minister to those of our congregation in responsible and meaningful ways. It also gives us dependable accounting records, organized properly for tax reporting and budgeting purposes. I would recommend PowerChurch software to any church.
